Millie Hunt
1935-2025

Mildred Ann “Millie” Hunt, 89, of Blandinsville, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her home at 2:30 pm, February 12, 2025,  surrounded by her family. She was born on September 7, 1935 in Augusta, IL to Roe and Virginia (Byrnes) Wooldridge.

Mildred married the love of her life, Edward Hunt, on June 19, 1953 in Colchester, IL. He survives, along with their three children: Bradley (Debbie) Hunt of Macomb,  David (Tresa) Hunt, and Anna (Greg) James of Blandinsville, and sister-in-law, Martha (Don) Wooldridge, She is also survived by her grandchildren: Colby (Shey) Hunt of Blandinsville, Colleen (Joey) Woodruff of Noblesville, Indiana, Jacob (Kara) Hunt of Blandinsville, Kevin Hunt of Blandinsville, Lucas (Jena) James of St. Augustine, Florida, and Brice (Andrew) James/McClure of Newhall, California. She was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Lucy, and Annie Hunt; Charley Jo and River Woodruff; Clayton and Skylar Hunt; and Sawyer, Presley, and Austen James.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Gail Underwood, two brothers, Raymond (Nelrose) and Donald Wooldridge, a step-brother, Dick (Ann) Underwood and step-sister Marilyn (Bud) James.

Millie spent her entire adult life in Blandinsville, working hand in hand with Ed on their farm. Together, they built a life rooted in family and farming.  She cherished her family and loved gathering them around her table for countless holiday celebrations over the years. Millie was a member of the First Christian Church in Blandinsville for over 60 years, where she taught Sunday School and participated in various church functions.

Adventurous and full of life, Millie enjoyed off-road trips to Colorado and Moab, Utah, with Ed, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In her later years, she and Ed took joy in the simple pleasures of sitting on their porch, watching the world from their front window, and taking drives to see the happenings on the farm.

Mildred’s legacy of love, dedication, and family will forever be remembered by those who knew her.

Services to Celebrate her Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the Blandinsville Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Private family burial of cremains will take place at Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville at a later time.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to: MDH Hospice Program, Blandinsville Christian Church and the Blandinsville Fire Department.
