Roger Alan Toland, 85, of Industry passed away at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, May 4, 2025 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born on April 5, 1940 in Industry to Clyde and Evelyn Finch Toland. He married Olive Young on March 10, 1961. She passed away on November 22, 2017. He then married Linda Allen Gabbert on February 16, 2019. She survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Cindy (Troy) Shirrell of Macomb; five grandchildren, Brittni Shirrell (Fiancé, Chris Schneider), Chelsi Shirrell, Justin Daniels, Jacy (Eric) Watson and Jon (Lisa) Bishop; four great-grandchildren, Jon Bishop, Bryson Bishop, Jason Bishop and Xander Watson; one brother, Jerry (Vicky) Toland of Galesburg and one sister, Kay (Richard) Derry of Macomb.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Olive and one daughter, Kim Cordle.
Roger lived all his life in Industry. He worked at Western Illinois University as an engineer for 21 years retiring in 2002. He is a Navy veteran serving from 1959 to 1963.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Pastor Dan Wise officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Industry Cemetery in Industry where full military rites will be conducted by the Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW.
Memorials may be made to the Bleeding and Clotting Disorder Institute in Peoria or the Charity of Donor’s Choice..
