1947-2024
Terry A. Schindel, 77, of Macomb passed away at 2 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2024 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
He was born on May 9, 1947 in Macomb to Benjamin and Dorothy Stoneking Schindel. He married Connie Morrell on July 3, 1971 in Sciota. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Teresa (Steve) Gooden of Blandinsville and Jennifer Schindel of Macomb; granddaughter, Cassie Gooden of Macomb; great-granddaughter Adalyn Gooden of Macomb; step-father, Bill Mathena of Macomb; step-brother, Gary Mathena of Fandon and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ginger Fisher.
Terry lived all of his life in Macomb. He worked as an electrician for WIU for many years, retiring in 2002.
He was an Army veteran serving from 1966 to 1968. He was a lifetime member of the Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m.. Friday, August 2, 2024 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Pastor A. Lee Unger officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the funeral home. Full military rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024 at the funeral home by the Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW.
