March 20
Officer was dispatched to the Exchange Street railroad crossing for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer spoke to a subject by telephone in reference to an impounded vehicle.
March 21
Officer was dispatched to an activated burglar alarm in the 600 block of SE 2nd Street. It was determined to be a false alarm.
Officer assisted a citizen in the 400 block of SW 5th Street.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 8th Ave for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be an accidental mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the east edge of town on Route 34 for a reckless driving complaint. Officer spoke to all subjects involved. No enforcement action taken.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street for a complaint involving harassment from a subject that bought a vehicle and refuses to return license plates.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 9th Ave for a residential burglary complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street to assist a motorist that locked keys in vehicle. Tarletons also responded and helped subject.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 7th Ave for a domestic disturbance involving a juvenile. While handling complaint, officer was also advised the subjects were missing a license plate. It was entered into the LEADS system as “stolen.”
March 22
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th Street for a civil dispute involving a cat that was left at the property after an eviction.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 3rd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. IT was determined to be a pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NE 5th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. Officer checked, but was unable to locate anyone needing assistance.
March 23
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NW 8th Street for two dogs running loose. Officer caught both dogs and contacted the owner, based on info from their collars. The dogs were returned.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 6th Street for a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of North Center Ave for a complaint involving suspicious activity.
March 24
Officer was notified about a controlled burn that was taking place in the 500 block of SW 6th Ave.
Officer was dispatched to assist a motorist that broke an axle on a grain wagon in the 600 block of South Center Ave.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 1st Street for a property dispute involving a couch being placed on neighbor’s property.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on West Division Street in reference to a welfare check. The subject said he was fine.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of North Center Ave for a burglary in progress complaint. This complaint was unfounded.
March 25
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 4th Ave for a suspicious activity complaint. Owner found a door locked that isn’t normally and thought someone may be inside residence. Officer checked the residence, but nobody was inside.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of North Center Ave for a criminal trespass to vehicle complaint.
Officer, along with Stark Co Medic, were dispatched to a medical emergency on NE 6th Ave. The subject was determined to be deceased after life-saving efforts were unsuccessful. The coroner was contacted.
March 26
Officer was dispatched to 200 block of SW 6th Street for a criminal damage to property /trespassing complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of West Division Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be a child playing with a phone.
