May 22
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NW 3rd Ave for a complaint involving an illegally parked truck and trailer. The owner was spoken to and the truck was moved.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 1st Ave for a loose dog complaint. The dog was found and returned home.
Officer went to the 400 block of NE 1st Street for a city ordinance violation and a property line dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NE 9th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. Officer didn’t locate anyone needing assistance.
Officer spoke to a resident at the Galva PD in reference to a theft that occurred a few months ago.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 4th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was confirmed to be a pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 6th Street for a loose dog complaint. The owner came and retrieved the dog.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th Street for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. It was determined to be an accidental dial.
May 23
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2nd Street in reference to a disabled vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front Street to assist a transient that was disoriented. Subject was transported by ambulance.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 200 block of SW 2nd Ave, Ramsey Ingels, 23, Toulon, was arrested for operating a vehicle with suspended registration due to no insurance, and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of North Center Ave for a 9-1-1 call that plotted there. A subject said she was travelling through the area and didn’t mean to call.
Officer was dispatched to assist Henry Co with a complaint of a loose cow in the roadway. Officer located the cow and called the owner. A family member arrived and put cow back into pasture.
Officer was contacted by a juvenile about a bicycle that had been turned into police a week earlier. The bike was returned.
Officer was dispatched to the NE 6th Ave railroad tracks for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to an abandoned building in the 200 block of Exchange Street in reference to a bird that was flying around inside building. Owner of building was contacted to assist with getting bird out.
Officer was dispatched to a single vehicle hit-and-run accident in the 100 block of SW 4th Street. Officer was able to locate driver, Jeremiah Sall, 39, Galva, and arrested him for leaving the scene of a property damage accident, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid and accident, and failure to report a property damage accident to police authority. He was released with a required court date.
May 24
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of Wallace Street to assist a citizen who had questions.
Officer was dispatched to the Galva viaduct west of town for a complaint involving items that had been thrown off bridge and had been struck by a passing train. A bicycle and other items were removed from the tracks.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 9th Street for a civil property dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 9th Street for a loud music complaint. Music was turned down.
May 25
Officer was dispatched to Route 34 east of town to check a 9-1-1 hang up call that plotted there. Nobody needing assistance was located.
Officer was flagged down about a sick or injured red fox laying near the road in the 100 block of North Center Ave. Officer was able to chase the fox away towards the west along railroad tracks.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 4th Ave for a criminal damage to property complaint after a window was found broken at the church.
Officer was dispatched to the west edge of Galva to attempt to locate a truck pulling a trailer that damaged another vehicle west of town. The trailer contained long metal pieces that struck and damaged a mirror. Officer located the suspect truck and phone numbers and insurance information were exchanged between both drivers to discuss repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 4th Street for a complaint involving subjects hanging out at a vacant house.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NE 4th Street to speak to a subject that was having a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 2nd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be an accidental dial.
May 26
Officer checked on two vehicles parked at the Galva Park District after hours. The subjects were told to get dressed and move along.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of North Center Ave for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be a mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street for a complaint of two subjects loitering and bothering customers for money and cigarettes.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of North Center Ave for an activated alarm going off behind the water works building. An employee of the water department was contacted for repairs.
Officer went to the 100 block of NE 4th Street to follow up with a sex offender that was out-of-compliance. As the result, Stephon Brown, 24, Galva, was arrested for failure to register as a sex offender. He was taken to the Henry Co jail.
May 27
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 4th Street to check the welfare of a subject. They were taken by ambulance for treatment.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 800 block of SE 2nd Street, Raheen Franks, 21, Mississippi, was arrested for not having a valid driver’s license and for speeding. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of Wallace Street for a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 3rd Ave for a loud music complaint.
Officer was dispatched to a verbal disturbance complaint in the 600 block of NW 1st Street.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 600 block of South Center Ave, Ronald Bombliss, 64, Galva, was arrested on a Henry Co warrant for failing to appear on charges of retail theft and fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer. He was able to post bond and was released with a new court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street for a complaint involving a baggie being found containing an illegal substance.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 400 block of SW 2nd Ave, Patrick Hammons, 67, Galva, was arrested for operating a vehicle with registration suspended for no insurance. After a police K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle, a probable cause search was conducted. Patrick was also charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released with a required court date for both offenses.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 1300 block of SE 2nd Street, Manuel Mercado-Ramos, 32, Kewanee, was arrested for having a “cancelled drivers license. “ He was released with a required court date.
May 28
As the result of a traffic stop in the 300 block of SW 1st Ave, Timothy Porter, 58, homeless, was arrested for not having a valid drivers license, having unsafe equipment, and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3rd Street for a 9-1-1 open line call that plotted there. Nobody was located in the area.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Main Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be an accidental dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3rd Street for an assault that was taking place. It was determined to be a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of North Center Ave for a 9-1-1 call that was plotting there. Officer did not locate anyone needing assistance.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 1st Ave for a suicidal juvenile. The subject was transported by ambulance for treatment.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3rd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. No emergency existed.

Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 5th Street for a loud music complaint. The subjects were advised to turn it down.
