June 5
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 6th Ave for a suspicious vehicle that was unoccupied and running. Officer located the owner, who was visiting a family member.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 7th Ave for several 9-1-1 calls reporting a disturbance. A subject from Kewanee was at residence trying to pick up a lawn mower that had been entered into LEADS as stolen. Officer seized the mower and ultimately returned it to owner from Kewanee.
Officer spoke to several residents in the 00 block of NW 5th Street about a planned detour for the next several days.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 1st Street for an illegal burning complaint. The wooden chair was put out with a hose and subject was advised of the burning regulations.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 6th Ave for a 9-1-1 call. The resident was advised their concern was not an emergency and they were given the non-emergency number.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SE 8th Ave for a 9-1-1 open line call. Officer located a subject on a riding lawn mower several blocks away. The subject was unaware of the pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th Street for a theft and trespassing complaint. This case remains under investigation.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Ave for a complaint of a verbal dispute amongst roommates.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Ave in reference to a complaint of telephone harassment.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of East Division Street for a complaint involving trespassing. Nobody was located in the area.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Ave to assist a citizen.

June 6
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 6th Ave for a complaint involving a subject that received an electrical shock from exposed wires. An ambulance was summoned to the scene.
While patrolling, officer noticed that all of the Galva railroad crossings were blocked by a stopped train. BNSF was contacted and the train eventually moved along.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Street to assist that requested help.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Ave for a theft complaint.
Officer went to a Galva residence and delivered a message for Illinois DCFS.
Officer went to the 00 block of NE 9th Street to attempt to locate a wanted subject. As the result, Abbigail Becket, 37, Galva, was arrested on a Henry Co warrant for failing to appear on several traffic charges. She was unable to post bond and was transported to the Henry Co jail.
Officer went to the 200 block of NW 1st Ave in reference to a city ordinance violation for junk / trash accumulation.
Officer spoke to a resident in the 200 block of SE 1st Ave in reference to a parking complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SE Industrial Ave for a loose cow complaint. The owner was contacted to handle.
June 7
Officer, along with the fire dept, Stark Co Medic, Henry Co Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police, were dispatched to the SW 6th Ave railroad crossing for a car vs train accident. Two subjects had gotten out of the car before impact. The Illinois State Police handled the traffic crash and DUI arrest relating to this incident.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 100 block of NE 6th Ave, Shawn Tarleton, 52, Galva, was arrested on a Knox Co warrant for failing to appear on a DUI charge. He posted bond and was released with a new court date.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 4th Street for a welfare check. A subject was taken by ambulance for evaluation / treatment.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of South Center Ave for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. It was determined to be a pocket dial from a subject mowing.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 7th Ave for a 9-1-1 open line call. It was determined to be another pocket dial from same subject mowing.
Officer was dispatched to the railroad tracks on Exchange Street after a semi truck broke the crossing arm off. Officer directed traffic until BNSF was able to arrive for repairs.
Officer was flagged down by a subject in the downtown about a prescription bottle that was lost between the pharmacy and his residence. Officer assisted with looking for it, but did not locate it.
Officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of SE 2nd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be a pocket dial from a motorist passing through town.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 2nd Ave for a battery complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 1st Street for a harassment complaint.
June 8
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of East Division Street for a robbery complaint. The complaint was unfounded.
Officer was flagged down by a subject that accidentally left his wallet and cell phone on top of a vehicle and it fell off. Officer checked around and was not able to find it.
Officer was advised that a retail theft had occurred at Kewanee Walmart and the vehicle may have fled south from there. Officer sat on east edge of town on Route 34 and did not see vehicle.
Officer received several complaints of a sick or injured red fox in the 200 block of NW 3rd Street. Officer checked the area, but did not locate it.
Officer checked on and placed a towing tag on a disabled vehicle parked in the 300 block of Main Street.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 500 block of SE 6th Ave, Damon Weed, 21, Galva, was arrested for driving while license suspended. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SE 4th Street for a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to the Galva Park District near the baseball field for a 9-1-1 hang up call. Officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
Officer was dispatched to meet a subject in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street to obtain information in reference to a child abuse case. DCFS was contacted.
June 9
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 3rd Street for a loose dog complaint.
Officer participated in the touch-a-truck program at the Learning Connections Daycare for the children.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 1st Ave for an activated burglar alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Ave for a neighbor dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Ave for a verbal domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 2nd Street for an illegal fireworks complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 4th Ave for a complaint involving either gunshots or fireworks. Officer checked the area and was not able to locate.
Officer was dispatched to Wiley Park for a complaint involving a juvenile subject playing loud music from a vehicle. They agreed to turn it down.
June 10
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 7th Ave for a barking dog complaint.
Officer, along with the fire department and Stark Co Medic, were dispatched to the 800 block of NW 5th Ave for an activated carbon monoxide detector. It was determined to be faulty batteries.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 10th Ave for a complaint involving harassing text messages.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 3rd Ave for a reckless driving complaint.
Officer assisted Henry Co with a complaint of an intoxicated adult subject walking north of town with open alcohol. The subject was looking for a campground in rural Stark Co.
June 11
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NE 2nd Street for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. It was determined to be a mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to assist a motorist with a disabled vehicle in the 00 block of NE 4th Ave. Tarletons tow truck was contacted.
Officer met with a sex offender at the Galva PD to register a change of employment.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NE 2nd Street for a civil stand by.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 6th Ave for a loose dog complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 6th Ave for a domestic disturbance.
