June 19
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Main Street for a loud music complaint. Resident agreed to turn it down.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 6th Ave for an illegal burning complaint, which was also a city ordinance violation for burning on a non-burn day. The subject took a hose and put the fire out.
Officer met with a subject at City Hall to complete a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 1st Ave for a welfare check. The subject was fine.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of North Center Ave for a fireworks complaint.
June 20
Officer was advised of a repossession taking place in the 400 block of East Division Street.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 3rd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call.
Officer was dispatched to the area of SE 6th Street and SE 3rd Ave for a parking complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 7th Ave for a utilities complaint involving water coming into a basement. The Galva Water Dept was contacted and responded.
Officer was dispatched to Sentry Estates for a possible prowler complaint. It was unfounded.
June 21
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 6th Street for a disorderly conduct complaint after a subject was reportedly following another subject in a car for a period of time. Officer located the suspect and conducted a traffic stop. The suspect was advised to go home.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 8th Street for a 9-1-1 open line call that plotted there. It was determined to be a pocket dial from a subject that was mowing.
Officer met with a complainant at City Hall in reference to issues with a tenant trying to sell items that belonged to the landlord.
While patrolling, officer located a loose dog running in the 500 block of SW 4th Ave. The owner was located and the dog was returned.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Main Street for a complaint involving possible child abuse. DCFS was also contacted.
Officer checked a residence in the 300 block of North Center Ave after an open door was discovered. Nobody was found inside the residence.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 5th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was determined to be a mis dial.
June 22
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Exchange Street for a minor two vehicle accident with damage only.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2nd Street for a theft report involving two bicycles being stolen. This case remains under investigation.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 6th Ave for a domestic disturbance complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 2nd Street for a theft over $500 complaint. This remains under investigation.
Officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of SE 2nd Street for a 9-1-1 open line call. Officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
June 23
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 2nd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. Officer checked the area, but did not locate anyone needing assistance.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Commercial Street for a complaint involving an elderly subject running over a ladder and paint. The subjects spoke and agreed to work out payment for damage amongst themselves.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street for a complaint involving juveniles throwing apples and running into traffic. The juveniles were advised to move along.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 3rd Ave for a 9-1-1 open line call. It was determined to be a pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th Street for a 9-1-1 open line call that plotted there. It was determined to be a mis dial.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 100 block of SE 1st Ave, Jonathan Specht, 36, Hooppole, was arrested for driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3rd Street for a complaint involving a subject being attacked. This complaint was unfounded. The caller was suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was advised of a reckless driving complaint south of Kewanee. Officer went to east edge of town but did not see suspect vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 8th Ave for a suicidal subject. The subject left in a vehicle. Officer was able to make phone contact, but did not locate subject.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 6th Ave for a verbal domestic disturbance.
June 24
Officer was dispatched to Washington Park for a suspicious subject walking around with a metal fence post. Subject appeared to be having a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of West Division Street for a 9-1-1 open line call. Officer did not locate anyone needing assistance.
Officer checked on a suspicious vehicle running in the 200 block of SW 2nd Ave.
Officer checked on a parked vehicle with an open door in the 00 block of NW 4th Ave. Owner forgot to shut door.
While patrolling, officer heard screaming from a residence on NW 7th Ave. Officer learned subject had been attempting suicide by hanging and was combative. Subject was transported by ambulance for treatment / evaluation.
June 25
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3rd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was a subject having a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 3rd Street multiple times during the day for a subject trespassing onto other’s properties and screaming. The subject was located and released to a family member.

Paul Porter, 47, Kewanee, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.
June 21
Delores Garza, 29, Kewanee, was cited in the 400 block of West Division Street for not having a valid driver’s license.
June 22
Dustin Brock, 34, Kewanee, was issued a citation for not having a valid driver’s license in the 1200 block of SE 2nd Street.
June 25
Michael Rittenhouse, 56, Pekin, was issued a citation for failure to use a turn signal at least 100 feet before intersection in the 600 block of SE 2nd Street.
