July 3
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 4th Ave for a complaint involving a subject sleeping in complainant’s yard. The subject appeared to be intoxicated and was given a ride to the correct residence.
Officer was dispatched to the north edge of Galva for a reckless driving complaint. The suspect vehicle was reportedly S/B from Page Street. Officer did not locate suspect vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street for a complaint of an abandoned vehicle. While checking the vehicle, a subject approached and got into it before leaving.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Street to remove an unwanted subject following a verbal domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 1st Street for a low speed vehicle inspection.
Henry Co dispatch received numerous complaints from a resident in the 00 block of NE 4th Street about various topics. The subject appeared to be having a mental health crisis.
Derek Johnson, 35, Kewanee, was cited in the 00 block of Chester Street for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for no insurance, and operation of uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to assist Kewanee with a fight that possibly involved firearms. The “firearms” turned out to be BB guns.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Street to check the welfare of a subject.
Officer was dispatched to a park in Galva in reference to a sex offender being present. Officer was not able to locate subject.
July 4
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 5th Street for a parking complaint prior to the 5k running event.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 6th Street for a loose dog complaint. The dog was taken to impound.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 6th Ave for a theft / trespassing complaint. The complaint was unfounded.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 7th Street for a utility complaint involving wires that were in contact with a tree branch. The wires were identified as phone lines. Frontier Communications were contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be an accidental dial.
Officers were dispatched to several areas of town for illegal fireworks complaints.
July 5
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of East Division Street in reference to two dogs getting loose and running away. Officer found the dogs several blocks away and returned them home.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Commercial Street for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. It was determined to be a pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to assist Henry Co and Stark Co Medic with a medical emergency on Trolly Road east of town. A subject was found deceased. The coroner was contacted.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4th Ave to assist Kewanee PD with locating a subject that didn’t pay for fuel earlier in the day. A debit card error caused the non-payment.
Officer noticed a railroad crossing malfunction at the Exchange Street railroad tracks. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer went to four residences in reference to city ordinance violations for placing furniture on terrace. The residents were advised how to dispose of items.
July 6
Officer was advised of a possible child custody interference complaint just south of Galva in Knox Co. A non-custodial parent left the residence with a child without permission. The subject went south further away from Galva.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th Street for a loose dog complaint. Dog was located and returned to it’s owner.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of South Center Ave for a complaint involving an unsupervised child outside near the roadway. DCFS was contacted.
Officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of SE 2nd Street to check on a suspicious vehicle. The subjects were waiting for business to open.
July 7
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2nd Street to remove a subject asking customers for money. The subject was advised to move along.
Officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be a mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 3rd Street to assist a subject having a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to Hayes Road west of town for a verbal domestic dispute involving subjects walking there.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 6th Ave to assist a landlord with confirming a tenant had left after an eviction. The subject was gone.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3rd Street for a suicidal subject. The complaint was unfounded.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of Morgan Road for a two vehicle crash with damage only. A crash report was completed.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 9th Street for an activated burglar alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
July 8
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 1st Street to assist a citizen.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 1st Ave to assist a citizen.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NE 9th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. Officer checked the area, but did not locate anyone needing assistance.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of West Division Street for a loose dog complaint. Dog returned home.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 1000 block of SW 2nd Street, Nicole Berry, 40, Galesburg, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine as well as a Warren County warrant for retail theft. She was taken to the Henry Co jail.
Officer was dispatched to the Galva Park District for a 9-1-1 call that plotted there. It was determined to be a pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 2nd Street for a fireworks complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of NW 7th Ave for a fireworks complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 6th Ave for a fireworks complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the Galva Park District to pick up a key that had been found and turned in.
July 9
Officer went to the 300 block of NW 6th Ave and advised to clean up the remnants of fireworks that were strewn about in the roadway.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 9th Street for an activated burglar alarm. It was a false alarm.
