October 9
Officer met with a subject at the Galva PD to pay impound fees and get a vehicle released from the impound lot.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 300 block of SW 6th Street, Mark Thornton, 45, Toulon, was arrested for not having a valid drivers license, not having valid registration, and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
Officer spoke to a subject by telephone about concerns with an order of protection.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street for an activated burglar alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
October 10
Officer assisted the Galva Water Dept with a stand by while they shut the water service off in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 4th Street for a welfare check. The subject was fine.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NE 3rd Street for a wild animal complaint involving a sick fox. Officer was not able to locate, but live traps were set later in the day.
Officer was dispatched to the intersection of SE 1st Street and SE 6th Ave for a utility wire down in the roadway. Officer determined it was a phone line and moved it onto the terrace. Frontier was contacted for repairs.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 500 block of SW 3rd Ave, Narcedalia Fragoso, 28, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for no insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released with a required court date.
October 11
Officer met with a subject at the Galva PD to pay impound fees and get a vehicle released from the impound lot.
Officer met with subjects at the Galva PD to return property (firearms) that were recently collected for safekeeping due to a death.
October 12
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street to assist a business with checking on an abandoned vehicle that had been parked at the gas pumps for almost 5 hours.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on North Center Ave for a welfare check on a subject that wasn’t answering their door or phone. Officer made contact and the subject was fine.
Officer took a theft complaint by telephone for items stolen from the Galva Cemetery.
October 13
As the result of a traffic stop in the 600 block of NW 1st Street, Julie Johnson, 50, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for no insurance. She was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SW 1st Ave for a property line dispute.
Officer was dispatched to assist the ambulance crew with a medical call on SW 4th Street. The patient was found to have an unserved order of protection. Officer used a “short form” and served them prior to ambulance transport.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 2nd Street for a verbal domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SE Industrial Ave for an activated burglar alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 1200 block of SE 2nd Street, Gabriel Herrera-Galduno, 31, Mineral, was arrested for driving while license suspended and illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver. He was taken to the Henry Co Jail.
October 14
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street for child custody dispute.
Officer was contacted about a youth sports football team coming through Galva after winning a championship game. They were given a police escort.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 2nd Street for a utility complaint involving a washing machine leaking. The owner was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2nd Street for a possible shoplifting complaint involving juveniles. The complaint was unfounded.
October 15
Officer was dispatched to Sentry Estates for a complaint involving two loose pitbulls. Their owner took them back into the residence.

Lisa Bryl, 62, Galva, was issued citations for having an expired drivers license, operating an uninsured vehicle, and failure to yield the right-of-way in the 1000 block of SE 2nd Street.
Taylor Morales-Avila, 22, Altona, was issued a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle in the 600 block of West Division Street.

Michael Sturtevant, 38, Kewanee, was issued citations for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for no insurance, operating an uninsured vehicle, and having expired registration in the 1200 block of SE 2nd Street. He was released with a required court date.
Sandeep Bajaj, 47, Peoria, was issued a citation for speeding in the 300 block of SE 2nd Street.
