October 16
Officer saw a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street after business hours. The vehicle left and a traffic stop was initiated for a headlight violation. The driver, Justin Frederick, 34, Knoxville, was arrested for driving while license suspended. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to attempt to locate a vehicle that was reportedly heading to Galva from rural Knox Co. The driver was reportedly having a mental health crisis and a welfare check was requested. Officer was not able to locate the vehicle or subject.
Officer was dispatched to the Exchange Street railroad crossing for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to a verbal disturbance in the 600 block of NE 1st Ave.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 4th Ave for a loose dog complaint. The owner arrived and took the dog home.
Officer checked on a suspicious person in the 300 block of SE 3rd Ave. He subject advised he was homeless.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street, Dan Hoge, 79, Cambridge, was cited for operating a vehicle with suspended registration for no insurance, having expired registration, and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
October 17
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 1st Ave for a suspicious person complaint. Officer located the subject, who was soliciting without the required permit. Subject was warned and advised of the requirements.
Officer located a loose dog in the 300 block of SE 2nd Street. The owner was contacted and the dog was taken back inside.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 3rd Street in reference to a piece of mail that was mistakenly delivered to wrong address. It was taken to correct address.
October 18
As the result of a traffic stop in the 00 block of NW 3rd Street, Rylee Cooper, 20, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for no insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released with a required court date.
Officer spoke to a subject that left an electronic device at a local business accidentally. Arrangements were made to retrieve the item.
Brandon Magnussen, 51, Galva, was issued two administrative warning tickets (AWTs) in the 400 block of SE 5th Street. The violations were for soliciting without a permit and for a contractor doing tree work without proper permit through city hall.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 6th Ave to check a suspicious vehicle. The subject was waiting for a friend.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3rd Street for a report of a subject screaming and growling in the area. Officer made contact with a subject and he agreed to go inside for the night.
Officers went to the 300 block of SW 3rd Street to attempt to locate a wanted subject. As the result, Daphne King, 22, Wyoming, was arrested on a Stark Co warrant for failing to appear on a domestic battery charge. She was transported by a Stark Co deputy to the Stark Co Jail.
October 19
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3rd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be a mis dial from a subject having a mental health crisis.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 200 block of SE 2nd Street, Terry Scott, 40, Galva, was arrested for improper use of registration, operating a vehicle with expired registration, and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 500 block of West Division Street, Kelley Taylor, 46, Moline, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration is suspended for no insurance. She was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to Wiley Park for a battery complaint. A juvenile reported being battered by an adult. After speaking to multiple witnesses, this complaint is unfounded.
October 20
Officer was dispatched to a residence on West Division Street for a complaint of suspicious activity.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 4th Street to check the welfare of a subject. They were fine.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 8th Ave for a civil property dispute.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street, Andrew Talbot, 21, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for no insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th Street for a suspicious activity complaint. Officer spoke to subjects, who were there to visit a friend.
October 21
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 4th Street for a loose dog complaint.
Officer was dispatched to assist a motorist in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 7th Ave for a large tree limb in the roadway. The Street Dept was contacted for removal.
Officer was dispatched to assist a motorist in the 300 block of SW 3rd Ave.
October 22
Officer was dispatched to check a few Galva residences to attempt to locate a stolen vehicle. Officer did not locate it.
While patrolling, officer saw a resident in the 600 block of SE 2nd Street burning leaves on a non-burn day. Subject put the fire out.
Officer was dispatched to assist Henry Co with a single vehicle accident just east of town. A subject was transported by ambulance.

Samantha Lang, 31, Galva, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 200 block of SE 2nd Street.
October 21
Kayla Davis, 18, Macomb, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1200 block of SE 2nd Street.
Raeanne Norton, 31, Aledo, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1200 block of SE 2nd Street.
Alicen Stanley, 32, Kewanee, was issued citations for having expired registration and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 900 block of SW 2nd Street.
Nathan Kraus, 21, Pekin, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.
Roger Rickels, 44, LaSalle, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.
