Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of SE 1st Street to assist a citizen that needed a copy of police reports for court purposes.
Officer met with a group of subjects that were seeking a solicitor’s permit. They were able to provide a permit.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NW 7th Street for a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NE 3rd Street for a loose dog complaint. The dog was returned to it’s owner.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 5th Street for a threats complaint involving juveniles.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4th Ave for a telephone harassment complaint.
Officer spoke to a subject by telephone about a welfare check request on an adult daughter living in Galva.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 6th Street for a disorderly conduct complaint.
April 30
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of South Exchange Street for a semi truck that had a small fire in the rear brakes. The fire department also responded and checked the vehicle.
Officer was flagged down in the 900 block of North Center Ave by a citizen that found a small amount of cannabis in a child’s possession. The item was taken for destruction.
Officer was flagged down by a citizen in the 900 block of North Center Ave in reference to a cat that ran away as they arrived at the vet clinic. The cat was not located.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 7th Ave for a verbal domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NE 5th Street for a downed utility wire complaint. Mediacom was notified for repairs.
Officer spoke to a resident in the 500 block of SE 3rd Ave that was blowing grass into the roadway. They were advised that it was against city ordinance and state law.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 4th Street for a complaint about a neighbor’s dog.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 600 block of South Center Ave, Allen Shoen, 33, Galva, was arrested for driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was processed at the Galva PD and then released with a required court date.
May 1
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 2nd Ave for a suicidal subject.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 5th Street for a flag down complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 3rd Ave for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was determined to be a mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Main Street for a suspicious person complaint. Officer checked the area and was not able to locate.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 2nd Street for a solicitor complaint. The subject was found to have a valid permit.
May 2
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of West Division Street for a traffic complaint. Officer located the offender and a report was sent to the State’s Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3rd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. Officer responded and spoke to a resident that appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of Wallace Street to collect several debit cards that had been found along the roadway. Officer walked the same route and found several more items. The owner was contacted and the items were returned.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4th Street for a civil complaint involving a subject cutting a tree down and it landing on the house, causing damage.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SE 2nd Ave to assist Knox Co with a trash dumping complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the storage units in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street for a burglary complaint. Several padlocks were cut off and destroyed.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 9th Street for a theft complaint.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 2nd Ave for a suicidal subject. Several loaded handguns were removed and the subject was taken by ambulance for treatment / evaluation.
May 3
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 4th Ave for a domestic battery report.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 4th Street for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. It was determined to be a pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to assist Henry Co with a fatal car vs bicycle accident several miles south of Kewanee.
May 4
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street for an activated burglar alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
Officer was dispatched to a medical emergency on SW 8th Ave for an intoxicated subject that kept falling.
Officer provided traffic control for a few minutes as the Abate Motorcycle Awareness Ride passed through town.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 2nd Ave for a welfare check.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 1st Ave for a disturbance complaint.
While patrolling, officer located a small child falling out of a window at Sentry Estates. Officer made contact with a parent.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street, Vanessa Chavez, 30, Galesburg, was arrested for two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of adult use cannabis in a motor vehicle, driving while license suspended, and illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver. She was processed at the Galva PD and then released with a required court date.
May 5
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of West Division Street for a loose dog complaint. Officer was not able to locate.
Officer was dispatched to the south edge of town to check for a reckless driver complaint. Officer was not able to locate.
