    Peak afternoon heat indices around 105 degrees expected.
    WHERE
    Portions of north central, northwest, and west central Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.
    WHEN
    Until 8 PM CDT Monday.
    IMPACTS
    Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

On 10/8/2023 at 7:47 am LaSalle County Deputies investigated a single vehicle car Vs deer accident with no injuries in the area of N 2150th Rd & E 12th RD. (Farm Ridge TWP) James McVey JR (45) of LaSalle was driving west on N 2150th RD when a deer entered the roadway. He was unable to avoid the deer and struck it with the front left corner of his vehicle.

On 10/10/2023 at 9:10 pm LaSalle County Deputies investigated a single vehicle car Vs deer accident with no injuries in the area of RT 71 & E 875th RD. (Deer Park TWP) Shannon Hillyer (38) of Cedar Point was driving west on RT 71 when a deer entered the roadway. She was unable to avoid the deer and struck it with the front end of her vehicle.

On 10/12/2023 at 6:33 pm LaSalle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of RT 34 & E 22ndRD. (Adams TWP) Patricia Farley (72) of Sandwich, IL was cited for failure to yield one full lane to construction workers. She was released with a NTA.
