    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

On 9/24/2023 at 1:11 am LaSalle County Deputies investigated a single vehicle accident with no injuries in the area of RT 71 & N 39th RD. (Mission TWP) Andrew Schwartz (39) of Newark, IL was driving north on RT 71, attempting to turn onto N 39th RD when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a road sign. Andrew was cited for failure to reduce speed/accident, failure to notify police authority and arrested for leaving the scene of property damage accident. He was arrested and later released with a NTA.

On 9/25/ 2023 at 9:55 pm LaSalle County Deputies investigated a single vehicle accident with no injuries in the area of N 3450th Rd & E 2375th RD. (Rutland TWP) Anthony Newberry (45) of Millington was driving east on N 3450th RD, negotiating a curve when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole.

On 9/26/2023 at 11:25 am LaSalle County Deputies responded to 1627 N 4012th RD (Freedom TWP) for a neighborhood disturbance. Subsequently Russel Farley (35) of Harding was arrested for aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, unlawful possession of a weapon and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. He was transported to LASCO Jail.

On 9/27/ 2023 at 8:04 pm LaSalle County Deputies investigated a single vehicle accident with no injuries in the area of 1901 N 2703rd RD. (South Ottawa TWP) Sofie Offermann (19) of Ottawa was driving south on N 2703rd RD when a deer entered the roadway. She was unable to avoid the deer and struck it with the front end of her vehicle.
