LaSalle County Sheriff Report 2/24/2023

On 2/20/2023 at 7:05 am LaSalle County Deputies investigated a single vehicle car Vs dog accident with no injuries in the area of E 29^thRD & N 2350^th RD. (Brookfield TWP) Tracy Johnson (59) of Dyer, IN was driving south on E 29^th Rd when a dog ran onto the roadway. She was unable to avoid the dog and struck it with the front end of her vehicle.

On 2/23/2023 at 12:44 pm LaSalle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of N 30^th RD & E 29^thRD. (Miller TWP) Paul Hauck (33) of Ottawa was cited for speeding 79 mph in a 55 mph zone.

On 2/23/2023 at 2:14 pm LaSalle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of RT 34 & E 17^th RD. (Earl TWP) Benjamin Horvat (23) of Newark, IL was cited for obstructed front windshield.

On 2/23/2023 at 2:23 pm LaSalle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of RT 34 & RT 23. (Adams TWP) Dylan Limon (21) of Sandwich, IL was cited for obstructed front windshield.

On 2/23/2023 at 3:02 pm LaSalle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of RT 71 & E 2631^st RD. (Miller TWP) Adolfo Castro (28) of Yorkville, IL was cited for speeding 80 mph in a 55 mph zone.

On 2/23/2023 at 3:13 pm LaSalle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of RT 71 & E 25^th RD. (Rutland TWP) Melanie McFarlane (23) of Alsip, IL was cited for speeding 80 mph in a 55 mph zone.

On 2/23/2023 at 5:20 pm LaSalle County Deputies investigated a single vehicle car Vs deer accident in the area of N 30^th RD & E 27^thRD. (Manlius TWP) Charles Scherer (71) of Ottawa was driving east on N 30^th RD when a deer entered the roadway. He was unable to avoid the deer and struck it with the front right corner of his vehicle.

On 2/23/2023 at 7:42 pm LaSalle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of RT 6 & E 12^th RD. (Utica TWP) Brittany Dovin (18) of Ottawa was cited for speeding 78 mph in a 55 mph zone.

On 2/23/2023 at 7:54 pm LaSalle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of RT 6 & E 13^th RD. (Ottawa TWP) Marsha DeWalt (65) of Grand Ridge was cited for speeding 74 mph in a 55 mph zone.
