On 5/24/2023 at 4:25 pm LaSalle County Deputies investigated a two vehicle accident with no injuries in the area of RT 34 & Meridian RD. (Mendota TWP) Joshua Pond (26) of Princeton, IL was driving W/B on RT 34 when a riding lawnmower entered the roadway. He was unable to avoid the lawnmower and struck it with his front left bumper. Steven Bumgarner (63) of Mendota drove his riding lawnmower onto RT 34 when Joshua’s vehicle struck the back left tire of his riding lawnmower.

On 5/26/2023 at 4:45 pm LaSalle County Deputies investigated a single vehicle accident with no injuries in the area of E 8th RD & N 18th RD. (Richland TWP) Gregory Szopinski (20) of Joliet, IL was driving S/B on E 8th RD negotiating a curve when he lost control of his vehicle, entering the field causing damage to the front left side of his vehicle. Gregory was cited for failure to reduce speed/accident and arrested for DUI alcohol. He was released with a NTA.
