    Portions of north central, northwest, and west central Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.

    IMPACTS
    Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

On 8/20/2023 at 1:36 am LaSalle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of RT 251 & N 15th RD. (Hope TWP) Garrett Stewart (28) of Tonica was cited for operating uninsured motor vehicle. He was released with a NTA.

On 8/20/2023 at 3:05 am LaSalle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of RT 23 & RT 52. (Freedom TWP) Rodolfo Guerrero-Garay (38) of Omaha, NE was cited for disobeying a stop sign and illegal transportation of alcohol. He was arrested for no valid drivers license, operating uninsured motor vehicle, and DUI alcohol over .08 BAC. He was released with a NTA.

On 8/20/2023 at 3:52 am LaSalle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of RT 23 & N 17th RD. (Farm Ridge TWP) Heather Hall (24) of Streator was cited for operating uninsured motor vehicle. She was released with a NTA.

On 8/20/2023 at 4:51 pm LaSalle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of RT 23 & I-80. (Ottawa TWP) Heather Vahl (21) of Streator was arrested for operating uninsured motor vehicle and DWLS. She was released with a NTA.
