On 08/04/23 at 0358 HRS Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Wendy’s – 1440 Columbus St., Ottawa (Ottawa TWP). The driver was identified as Alejandro Zavala (23) of Streator, IL. Alejandro was cited for Improper use of electronic communication device and driving while license suspended with an NTA.
On 08/04/23 at 0556 HRS Deputies investigated a single vehicle crash which occurred in the area of N 25th RD and E 22nd RD (Fall River TWP). The driver of unit 1 was identified a Robert J. Olson (43) of Ottawa, IL. Unit 1 missed the curve due to the fog and entered the north ditch of N 25th RD. Unit 1 struck a road sign and continued traveling east where it struck a utility pole. Marseilles EMS was on scene and Robert was transported to OSF Ottawa for treatment. Robert was cited for driving too fast for conditions and operating uninsured vehicle.
On 08/04/23 at 2217 HRS Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of N 15th RD and E 15th RD (Bruce TWP). The driver was identified as Michael T. Laughlin (49) of Streator, IL. Michael was cited for no valid driver’s license with an NTA.
