    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

09/01/23 at 0444 HRS, Deputies investigated a single vehicle crash with no injuries in the area of N 20th RD ¼ of a mile west of I- 39 (Eden TWP). John R. Goskusky (38) of Peru was traveling eastbound on N 20th RD when a deer entered the roadway. He was unable to reduce speed to avoid the deer and struck it with the front end of his vehicle. Vehicle was drivable.

09/01/23 at 0534 HRS, Deputies investigated a two-vehicle crash with no injuries in the area of E 2750TH RD ¼ of a mile north of N 4375TH RD (Northville TWP). Driver of Unit 1 was identified as Alex J.G. Fuentes (27) of Marseilles. Alex was traveling northbound on E 2750TH RD and failed to avoid a parked vehicle on the east side of the road. The owner of Unit 2 was identified as Matthew P. Kramoshi (38) of Yorkville. Matthew’s vehicle was struck by Alex in the rear end. Alex’s vehicle received front end damage. Sandwich EMS was on scene, and no one was transported to the hospital. Both vehicles were towed. Alex was issued a citation for Failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Matthew was issued two citations for driving while driver’s license suspended and operating vehicle with suspended registration for no insurance.

On 09/01/23 at 1255 HRS, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of IL RT 71 and E 2361st RD (Mission TWP). Noe Abarca-Piza (40) of Aurora was cited for operating vehicle with suspended registration for no insurance.

On 09/01/23 at 1340 HRS, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of IL RT 23 and State St., Ottawa (South Ottawa TWP). Angela L. La Due (53) of Ottawa was cited for no seat belt (Driver).

On 09/01/23 at 1405 HRS, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of IL RT 23 and Kain St., Ottawa (Ottawa TWP). Zachary J. Schillings (19) of Ottawa was cited for no seat belt (Driver) and tinted windshield.

On 09/01/23 at 1415 HRS, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of IL RT 18 and E 15TH RD (Eagle TWP). Ralph Kortzke (49) of Streator was cited for operating uninsured motor vehicle.

On 09/01/23 at 1427 HRS, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of IL RT 23 and Deleon St., Ottawa (Ottawa TWP). Vaildehi Suriyanarayanan (24) of Plainfield was cited for improper use of electronic communication device.

On 09/01/23 at 1435 HRS, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of US RT 6 and Canal St., Ottawa (Ottawa TWP). Eric C. Dilley (43) of Ottawa was cited for no seat belt (Driver).

On 09/01/23 at 1450 HRS, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of IL RT 23 and Jefferson St., Ottawa (Ottawa TWP). Richard E. Lozano (55) of Ottawa was cited for no seat belt (Driver).

On 09/01/23 at 1500 HRS, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Jefferson St. and Canal St., Ottawa (Ottawa TWP). Edward J. Mufich (72) of Sheridan was cited for operating uninsured motor vehicle and no seat belt (Driver).

On 09/01/23 at 1541 HRS, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of IL RT 23 and N 35TH RD (Dayton TWP). Christina A. Johnson (33) of Dekalb was cited for speeding 72 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.

On 09/02/23 at 1420 HRS, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of E 15thRD and Oakley Ave. (Eagle TWP). Destinee L. Daughenbaugh (31) of Streator was cited for operating uninsured motor vehicle, operating vehicle with suspended registration for no insurance, and no seat belt (Driver). Destinee was released on an NTA.
