September 4
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NW 2 nd Street to assist a citizen.
Officer assisted the Galesburg PD with a child custody dispute in the 300 block of NW 3 rd Ave.
Officer was dispatched to the Chester Street railroad tracks for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer assisted the ambulance with a medical emergency just east of town on Route 34.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street, Rhonda Blakey, 53, Lafayette, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration is suspended for no insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released with a required court date.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 200 block of SE 3 rd Ave, Yahil Gonzalez-Tirado,18, Kewanee was arrested for possession of adult use cannabis in a motor vehicle. He was released with a required court date.

September 5
Officer assisted a citizen that was looking at our former squad car that is for sale.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 1 st Street for a loose dog that chased a subject and was barking and growling. The owner was spoken to and advised the dog got out by mistake.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of Wallace Street for a theft complaint. The stolen items were recovered by Kewanee PD during a search warrant. Charges are pending.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 3 rd Ave for a hit-and-run accident involving a dog struck by an unknown vehicle. Officer made arrangements with the local vet to examine the dog.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NE 6 th Street for a wild animal complaint involving an ill red fox. The fox displayed a fear of humans and ran away from the officer.
Jesse Cantu, 29, Galesburg, turned himself in at the Galva PD on several Knox Co warrants for criminal damage to property, driving while license suspended, and aggravated domestic battery. He posted bond and was released with a new court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4 th Street for a verbal domestic dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4 th Street to assist a subject having a mental health crisis.

September 6
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 7 th Ave for an activated life-alert alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
Officer spoke to a resident in the 1000 block of NW 7 th Ave about an overweight vehicle parked on the roadway. It was moved to the municipal truck parking lot.
Officer went to the 300 block of SW 6 th Ave for a city ordinance violation involving junk (furniture) being stored within public view.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Ave to speak to a subject about a civil dispute involving a dog bite that occurred a week weeks ago.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of Chester Street in reference to a landlord / tenant dispute that reportedly involved a firearm. The firearm was determined to not be real.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 400 block of NW 1 st Ave, Brian Ince, 49, Kewanee, was arrested for driving while license suspended. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street to check the welfare of a subject screaming late at night. The subject appeared to be having a mental health crisis.

September 7
As the result of a traffic stop in the 700 block of West Division Street, Timothy Fletcher, 44, Galva was arrested for driving while license suspended. He was released with a required court date.
Officer met with a citizen at the Galva City Hall in reference to issues with teenagers being disrespectful at Wiley Park last night.
Officer noticed that a freight train had stopped and was blocking several railroad crossings in Galva.
Officer assisted motorists with getting across the tracks at an open crossing.
Officer was dispatched to the Exchange Street railroad tracks for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Exchange Street for a disturbance complaint. It turned out to be a complaint involving a suicidal juvenile being restrained by a friend. Juvenile was taken to hospital for evaluation / treatment.
Officer assisted Stark Co with a traffic stop near Black Hawk College involving a subject that had a gun.

September 8
Officer was dispatched to Wiley Park for a disturbance involving two juveniles fighting.
Officer met with a subject at the Galva PD for a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer, along with the fire department, were dispatched to an activated fire alarm in the 500 block of East Division Street. It was determined to be a false alarm.
Officer checked on a subject in the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street late at night. The subject was just out for a walk.

September 9
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SE 2 nd Street for a wild animal complaint involving a red fox being witnessed killing a squirrel. This is part of nature.
Officer was flagged down and requested to conduct a welfare check on several juveniles at Wiley Park. They were fine.
Officer, along with the fire department, were dispatched to the area of SW 3 rd Street and SW 3 rd Ave for an odor of natural gas. Two gas leaks were located.

September 10
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of SE 2 nd Street to check the welfare of an elderly subject walking and carrying a dog. The subject was attempting to get to Kewanee. He was given a ride.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 4 th Ave to check the welfare of a subject that was sending suicidal text messages.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of Chester Street to meet a subject in reference to a civil issue.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of East Division Street for a report of several juveniles breaking into the residence. This case is pending.
Officer went to the 100 block of SE 3 rd Street in reference to a city ordinance violation.

Ian Davis, 27, Galva, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2 nd Street.

September 9
Amanda Criner, 43, Washington, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1200 block of SE 2 nd Street.
Dawn Steele, 55, Monmouth, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2 nd Street.
Michael Kelso, 63, Oneida, was issued a citation for following too closely in the 1000 block of SE 2 nd Street.
Lori Lynch, 46, Maquon, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2 nd Street.
