December 19
Officer was flagged down in the 300 block of Front Street in reference to a subject attempting to break in to businesses and vehicles. Officer checked the area but was not able to locate.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Exchange Street for a loose dog complaint. Officer caught the dog and impounded it.
Officer was dispatched to a single vehicle accident with damage only in the 400 block of NW 1 st Street.
Officer was dispatched to the Exchange Street railroad tracks for a crossing arm malfunction. Officer directed traffic until a BNSF employee arrived for repairs.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street, Patrick Hammons, 66, Galva, was arrested for operating a vehicle with suspended registration and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
December 20
Officer went to a residence in the 300 block of NW 1 st Street in reference to a city ordinance violation in reference to junk dumped in the yard. The resident cleaned everything up.
Officer was dispatched to check on a disabled vehicle on Route 34 just east of Galva. The vehicle was well off the roadway.
Officer checked on an occupied vehicle that was sitting in the roadway in the 400 block of SW 4 th Ave.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 6 th Ave for a disabled vehicle blocking the roadway. It was able to be moved off the street.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street for a report of a possible fire in the sewer system. The officer and fire department were not able to locate any fire.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front Street for a landlord / tenant dispute.
December 21
As the result of a traffic stop in the 800 block of West Division Street, Aliyah Alvis, 24, Rock Island, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a BAC over .08%, driving while license suspended, operating a vehicle with expired registration, operating uninsured vehicle, making an improper turn, and failure to use turn signal when required. She was released with a required court
date.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 3 rd Ave for a welfare check. The subjects were fine.
December 22
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 3 rd Street for a complaint involving a dog left out in the cold weather. Officer checked and the dog had been taken inside house.
Officer was flagged down about all the Galva railroad crossing gates down in town. Officer directed traffic for several hours until BNSF responded and got them reset.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front Street for a parking complaint involving a u-haul truck blocking several parking spaces. It was moved shortly after officer spoke to the subjects.
Officer, along with the Henry Co Sheriff’s Office, were dispatched to remove unwanted subjects in the 100 block of SE 3 rd Street. As the result, Robert Robinson, 43, Victoria, was arrested on a warrant from Stark Co for failing to appear on a charge of resisting arrest. He had a warrant from Knox Co for failing to appear on the charge of burglary and theft. He also had a warrant from Henry Co for failing to appear on charges of driving while license revoked, not having insurance, having a defective windshield, and possession of cannabis. Also, Rebecca Muckey, 34, Galva, was arrested on a warrant from Stark Co for failing to appear on charge of resisting a police officer. She was wanted form Knox Co for failing to appear on charges of burglary, theft, and possession of a controlled substance. She was also wanted from Henry Co for failing to appear on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. They were both taken to the Henry Co jail.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 7 th Ave for a loose dog complaint. The dog returned home.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a barking dog complaint.
Officer was dispatched to an activated fire alarm at the Best Factory. It was a false alarm.
December 23
Officer was dispatched to an activated burglar alarm in the 200 block of SW 2 nd Ave. It was a false alarm.
Officer was dispatched to Route 34 just east of town for a large wooden box in the roadway. It was removed.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 6 th Ave for a 9-1-1 hang up call.
Officer was dispatched to assist a citizen in the 800 block of NE 2 nd Street.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 2 nd Ave for a utilities complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of SE 2 nd Street for a panic alarm. It was caused by a brief power outage.
Officer was dispatched to the area of Industrial Ave and SE 8 th Street for a motorist assist for a vehicle in the ditch.
December 24
Officer was dispatched to a medical emergency in the 300 block of NW 1 st Street.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SE 2 nd Ave for an assault complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 3 rd Street for a burglary complaint. It was determined to be unfounded.
Officer was notified that all Galva railroad crossings were malfunctioning again. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer spoke to a resident in the 100 block of Main Street for a city ordinance violation for an illegal burning complaint.
December 25
Officers were advised that all Galva railroad crossings were malfunctioning. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 3 rd Street for a 911 hang up complaint. It was determined to be a mis dial.
Officer was flagged down about a railroad crossing malfunction (again) at all Galva crossings. BNSF was contacted.

Mary Invine, 57, Galva, was issued a citation for disobeying a railroad crossing signal at the Exchange
Street railroad crossing.
