    Very cold wind chills as low as 20 to 30 below expected.
    WHERE
    Portions of north central and northwest Illinois and east central and southeast Iowa.
    WHEN
    From 3 AM to noon CST Monday.
    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Sterling Police Report for Friday January 16th

Sterling Police have apprehended three individuals on outstanding warrants. Nathan Hargrave was taken into custody and transported to jail on a LaSalle County DUI warrant. Dylan Ingram faced a Lee County traffic warrant, posted bond, and was subsequently released. Marvin Chattic was arrested for both trespassing and possession of methamphetamine and is currently being held in jail.

Authorities continue their efforts to address outstanding warrants and maintain community safety. No further information on court dates or additional charges has been released at this time. The police urge anyone with information on outstanding cases to contact local law enforcement.

All are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
