    Very cold wind chills as low as 20 to 30 below expected.
    WHERE
    Portions of north central and northwest Illinois and east central and southeast Iowa.
    WHEN
    From 3 AM to noon CST Monday.
    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Sterling Police Report for January 15th

Sterling Police Department released details of recent enforcement actions. Among the incidents, Stevielyn C. Butler of Rock Falls received a citation for operating a vehicle while using an electronic communication device. In a separate development, Barbara S. Houston of Clinton, Iowa, posted bond after being taken in on a warrant out of Henry County. Officers also handed out citations for driving with a revoked license, speeding, and failure to obey a traffic light. Police continue to urge motorists to follow traffic laws to ensure the safety of everyone on local roads.
