    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Hamilton Man Charged with Murder

Sheriff Travis Duffy reports a 911 call received by the Hancock County 911 Center on December 24th, at approximately 10:00 PM has developed into a murder investigation.

The 911 call revealed that a 29-year-old male had been stabbed at a residence in rural Hamilton, IL. The victim was later pronounced dead. A suspect is in custody. GARRETT P. MILLER (34 of Hamilton, IL) is currently held in the Hancock County Jail. Miller has been charged with Second Degree Murder and will be held pending court appearance.

No other information is available at this time as the matter remains under investigation. The victim’s information is withheld pending notification of family.
