    Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

A & W Titans Game at Astoria Friday Will Start Late Due to Heat

Extreme temperatures are cited as the reason why Friday night’s A & W Titans season opener against Astoria has been forced to delay its start time. A & W Titans Athletic Director Tom McGunnigal tells WKEI RegionalMediaNews.com that the game on Friday will now start at 8 PM rather than the planned Varsity kick off of 7 PM in order to allow temperatures to cool down to safer conditions for those on the field and in the stands. There is no word if any other schools will follow the example of home team Astoria and the visiting Titans at this time.
