The Annawan Girls Basketball team earned a blow out victory over Bureau Valley on Wednesday night. After holding the Storm scoreless in the fourth quarter, Annawan sealed the 33 point victory, 63 to 30. Bella VanOpDorp led the way for Annawan with 15 points in the winning effort which moved Annawan to 6 and 3 on the season and 2 and 0 in conference play. After the game Coach Jason Burkiewicz gave this statement to the media: “We are continuing to hit from the outside with 8 more three pointers from 4 different girls once again. Our defense started off slow but when we hit the gas we had to have forced 30 turnovers or close once again tonight. We have a big challenge Saturday in Alleman. It was also nice to get our first double digit game from a player off the bench in Zoey Vance. She had battled some illness the past couple weeks and was not able to be a factor in games like Brimfield as our tallest, strongest player.”
