Central Steamers Softball Loses to Washington

Central Steamers lost to Washington MS Panthers 6-1 on Saturday at Washington Middle School.

Washington MS Panthers got on the board in the first inning after Sophie W hit an inside the park home run, scoring three runs.

Evelyn Schiltz hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the second for the Central Steamers.

Washington MS Panthers extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the second thanks to RBI singles by Sophie and Rylea D.

Allyson Puskar opened the game for Central Steamers. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and six runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking seven. Sophie started in the circle for Washington MS Panthers. They gave up two hits and one run over four innings, striking out 12 and walking two.

Schiltz led Central Steamers with two hits in three at bats. Central Steamers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Lily Lee had the most chances in the field with eight.

Central moves to 1-2 on the season. Their next game is Monday at 4:30pm at Northeast.
