The dominant Geneseo Lady Leafs swept their way to victory at the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend Basketball tournament in Kewanee. On Saturday, the Lady Leafs defeated the host team Kewanee 55 to 30. Geneseo then went on to defeat Mundelein on Saturday before completing their championship run with a victory over Brimfield on Monday afternoon, 46 to 38. Meanwhile, the Kewanee Boiler Girls struggled to three straight losses. Following Saturday’s loss to Geneseo, the Boiler Girls played a close, competitive contest against Brimfield but came up just short, 47 to 41.
