Annawan Continues Hot Streak with Win Over Wethersfield

The Annawan Boys Basketball team is on a roll. After winning the holiday tournament in LaMoille, they went home to host Wethersfield on Wednesday night and it was another big win. Final score, 54 to 36 in favor of Annawan. Gabe Sims and Brady Heitzler paced the Annawan boys, each scoring 12 points but the scoring was spread across several Annawan players who all stepped up. Wethersfield was led by star Landon Sauer who put up 19 points to lead all scorers on Wednesday night. After the game, Annawan Coach Alex Coppejans praised his team’s effort on social media stating:

“Braves go on the road to Wethersfield and get a 54-36 win. They are 14-2 overall and 2-0 in LTC play. Gabe Sims and Brady Heitzler with 12 each, Tommy Covington with 9, and Brody Childs with 8. Finished and executed down the stretch!”

Annawan will be back in action on Friday night against Biggsville. As for the Wethersfield boys, they’re now 5 and 8 on the season. Wethersfield will be back in action on Friday night against A-Town in game you will hear live on Hog Country 102.5 WJRE. Tip off at 7 PM.
