ORION — The Orion Chargers girls basketball program turned Thursday, December 11, 2025 into a night of purpose and community, raising $3,000 for The Brantley Francis Foundation during its Shooting for a Cure game.

The evening also doubled as Orion Youth Basketball Night for the girls program. Before the varsity matchup tipped off, youth players were recognized on the court, giving the next generation of Chargers a memorable moment in the spotlight and highlighting the strong connection between the youth program and the varsity team.

The fundraiser was fueled by strong support throughout the night, with proceeds coming from silent auction items, a 50/50 raffle, and a bake sale. From the opening minutes to the final buzzer, fans, families, and local supporters packed the gym with generosity—making the night a standout success.

Organizers credited the big total to the combined effort of the Orion community, along with the local businesses and individuals who donated auction items and helped spread the word. Volunteers also played a key role, helping coordinate bidding, sell tickets, and keep the bake sale moving.

With $3,000 raised on December 11, the Chargers and their supporters proved once again that Orion basketball is about more than what happens on the court—it’s about making a difference beyond it.
