Kewanee Baseball Star Clark Heeren announced his college choice on Tuesday at Kewanee High School. Heeren, who has had a tremendous season with Kewanee baseball will take his bat and glove to Knox College in the fall. The Prairie Fire of Knox College College are part of the Midwest Conference and most recently the they won the 2013 Midwest Conference South Division championship, have earned four top-three finishes in the conference since 2002. Knox placed third in the 2013 Midwest Conference Tournament, the team’s second straight trip to the tourney. The 2013 squad also set new program records for wins in a season (22) and conference wins in a season (13). The season for Knox College ended on Sunday with a loss to Grinnell College. Meanwhile, Clark Heeren has a game to play today as Kewanee faces Sherrard in an IHSA Regional game in Princeton this afternoon.
