Ohio State landed a commitment Tuesday from Anthony Thompson, a five-star forward from a high school in the Cleveland suburbs.

He is ranked by the 247Sports composite as the No. 2 small forward in the nation and the No. 8 player overall in the Class of 2026.

In July, he named his top seven schools under consideration. The other six were Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, Purdue and Texas.

The 6-foot-8, 205-pound Thompson plays at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio.

On the Adidas 3Stripes Select Basketball circuit this year, he averaged 22.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game for the Indiana Elite. He shot 58.8% from the field, 39.8% from 3-point range and 87.5% from 3-point range.

Ohio State already has commitments from a pair of four-star players in the class, power forward Alex Smith of Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Marcus Johnson of Garfield Heights High School in Cleveland.
