Angels star Mike Trout exits with left knee soreness

Angels right fielder Mike Trout left Wednesday afternoon’s 9-3 loss at the Seattle Mariners with soreness in his left knee, Los Angeles manager Ron Washington said after the game.

With two runners on and two outs in the top of the fourth inning, Jo Adell came off the bench to pinch-hit for the oft-injured Trout.

Trout singled in the first inning and grounded out to second in the third. He seemed to pull up a bit on the latter after trying to leg out an infield single, but returned to the outfield for the Mariners’ half of the third. Washington said Trout felt something in his knee when he hit the bag.

A three-time American League MVP and an 11-time All-Star, Trout hasn’t played in as many as 120 games since the 2019 season due to a variety of injuries.

Trout has played in 29 games this season — the same number he participated in for the entirety of the 2024 season. He’s batting just .179 with nine homers and 18 RBIs after a move from center to right field in an attempt to cut down on injuries.
