Ridgewood Defeats Kewanee Girls Basketball

Kewanee Girls Basketball came up short against Ridgewood on Thursday night despite a valiant fourth quarter comeback. After falling behind 41 to 24 at the half, the Kewanee BoilerGirls battled back to score 22 points in the fourth quarter, only to fall short 66 to 61. Avery Yepsen was clutch in the fourth quarter comeback scoring 7 of her team leading 16 points in the fourth quarter. Emma Crofton had 12 points, and both Larissa Stevens and Mya Dearing had 10 points each on the night. The key to victory for the Ridgewood Spartans was the play of Brynlee Wirth who scored 24 points in leading her team to victory. With the loss, Kewanee dropped to 0 and 5 on the season while Ridgewood moved 2 and 5. The Kewanee Boilergirls are back in action on Saturday afternoon on the road against Stark County.
