In last night’s intense Minor League matchup at Modern Woodmen Park, the Quad Cities River Bandits staged a late rally but fell short in a 6-4 loss to the South Bend Cubs. After a slow start, Bandits’ pitcher Steven Zobac found his rhythm, yet a pivotal third pass through the order saw the Cubs unleash a five-run inning spearheaded by a series of one-out hits. Despite Carter Jensen’s solo home run and additional RBI doubles from Jared Dickey and Jack Pineda, the River Bandits couldn’t close the gap. South Bend’s bullpen managed to maintain the lead, with Yovanny Cabrera securing his third save of the season. The River Bandits now face a crucial game four, hoping to level the series.
