Jade Noard’s Stark County Rebels got their season off to a good star with a win over Rushville Industry, 19 to 14. A fourth quarter touchdown run from Stark County star Luke Rewerts proved to be the difference maker as Rewerts ran it into the end zone from 22 yards out just after the start of the fourt quarter to give Stark County a late lead, they had been trailing 14 to 13. Extra points were hard to come by for the Rebels who missed a pair including one that would have had the game tied going into the 4th. Regardless, Quarterback Luke Rewerts carried the ball 6 time for 68 yards and two second half touchdowns that proved to be difference makers. The Rebels racked up more than 129 yards rushing while Rewerts also connected on 7 of 8 passes for 76 yards, five of those passes connecting with Conner Daum who averaged over 12 yards per catch on the night. Next Friday night, September 1st, Stark County travels to A & W to battle the Titans in a game that will be heard on Hog Country 102.5 WJRE.
