Israeli Airstrikes Kill 30 Palestinians at Gaza Refugee Camp Post Office

By The Media Line Staff

An Israeli airstrike on Thursday killed at least 30 Palestinians and injured 50 more at a post office in Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp, where displaced families had sought shelter, medics said.

The strike damaged nearby homes, while additional attacks on Gaza City’s al-Jalaa Street and a house west of Nuseirat brought Gaza’s daily death toll to 66.

The Israeli military has not commented on the strike in Nuseirat, one of Gaza’s eight refugee camps established for Palestinians displaced in the 1948 war. The densely populated camp serves as a haven for families fleeing violence in the enclave.

Earlier, two Israeli strikes in southern Gaza hit Rafah and Khan Yunis, killing 13 Palestinians. Hamas claimed they were part of a force protecting humanitarian aid trucks, while Israel said the strikes targeted Hamas fighters attempting to hijack aid shipments. The Israeli military argued the strikes were necessary to ensure safe aid delivery, accusing Hamas of planning to divert supplies for “terrorist activity.”

Hamas reportedly formed a task force in recent months to combat gangs looting aid trucks. Hamas-aligned police have killed dozens of gang members, according to Hamas sources and medics.

Israel ordered evacuations in Gaza City’s central districts, citing plans to strike areas used to launch rockets.
