The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office on Thursday issued a statement crediting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with spearheading a global campaign against Iran’s nuclear ambitions over the past decade. According to the statement,Netanyahu’s leadership—including both overt diplomatic efforts and covert operations—has been instrumental in preventing Tehran from acquiring a nuclear arsenal.
“For over a decade, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has led the global campaign against Iran’s nuclear program, even when the threat was belittled and labelled ‘political spin,’ and the Prime Minister was called ‘paranoid,’” the statement read.
It went on to describe the scope of Israel’s covert actions under Netanyahu’s direction, asserting that these measures have delayed Iran’s nuclear program by approximately ten years. “It is only due to these operations that Iran does not currently possess a nuclear arsenal,” the Prime Minister’s Office added.
The statement concluded: “As the Prime Minister has made clear more than once: Israel will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.”
