    Very cold wind chills as low as 20 to 30 below.
    WHERE
    Portions of north central and northwest Illinois and east central and southeast Iowa.
    WHEN
    Until noon CST today.
    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Sparks Notes – Kaylee Ussery & Tessa Sargeant

Sparks is joined by Kaylee Ussery from the Hancock County Fair Association and 2023 Hancock County Fair Queen Tessa Sargeant to talk about this year’s Hancock County Fair, going on July 13th to 20th.

This year’s fair promises some fun new attractions including the Inflatable Bounce City, JEEP/Side-by-Side Off-Road Rally, a rach sorting event, and a musical entertainment provided by Blacktop South.

Tessa also talks about her experiences as the Hancock County Fair and provides some useful advice for aspiring fair queens.
