The September Friends of the Hennepin Canal ‘Hike the Hennepin’ walk is on September 15, 2024, at 1:30 PM, at Lock 25. The “Red Fox” hike is 4.5 miles in length and runs from Bridge 41 to Lock 25. Hikers should meet at Lock 25 at 1:30 PM and be shuttled to Bridge 41 to begin the hike. Lock 25 is west of Geneseo.
Take Route 6 west of Geneseo approximately 4 miles (or Route 6 east of Colona) to 900 E/Howard School Road (off of the big curve – the “S” curve). Take 900 E north about 4 miles, then after crossing the canal, make a right onto 2227 N. The lock will then be about 2 miles.
You can join the hike whether you are a member of the Friends of the Hennepin Canal or not, and there is no fee for the hike. “Come and join in the fun and bring a friend! We ask that you dress weather appropriately.”
