The Kewanee Police Department and the Henry County Coroner’s have identified the male struck and killed by a train on September 8, 2024. Lukas McCullough, 40, was laying on the tracks when the Amtrak train struck him as it was approaching the Kewanee Train Station.
The Kewanee Police responded to a call around 8 PM on Sunday, September 8, 2024, involving an Amtrak Train that struck an individual laying on the tracks near Cernovich Scrap Yard on East 6th Street. Investigators arrived on scene and assisted Officers in locating identification and other personal items belonging to the unnamed deceased male.
