The Princeton Police Department is asking the public for information relating to several vehicles that were broken into and a vehicle that was stolen in Princeton and later recovered in Peoria. The Princeton Police Department received several calls regarding unlocked vehicles broken into by unknown subjects. A vehicle was reported stolen from a residence on East Peru Street during the timeframe of the vehicle break-ins. All incidents are currently under investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that a stolen Hyundai Santa Fe from Peoria traveled to Princeton and was seen in the area of the vehicle break-ins and seen on camera following the vehicle that was stolen in Princeton and taken back to Peoria.
Later on September 17th, both vehicles were recovered in Peoria by the Peoria Police Department. The occupants of the vehicles fled while the Peoria Police Department attempted to stop the vehicle.
