Bishop Hill will host a Scandinavian Dance Tunes Workshop on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 2 PM. The 90-minute session, featuring dance instruction by Emma Björling and fiddle lessons from Simon Alexandre, is free to the public. It will be held at the Dairy Building on 410 North Erickson Street, facilitated by the Bishop Hill Heritage Association with support from the Illinois Arts Council. Simon Alexandre will introduce attendees to popular Swedish folk tunes on the fiddle. Nyckelharpa could also be taught if they know in advance of any Nyckelharpa players.
