A high-speed chase in Stark County ended with the capture of fugitive William K. Skog (AKA Slime) on October 8, 2024. Skog, suspected of vehicle thefts across Henry and Stark counties, was arrested after crashing a stolen red Volvo into a farm field drainage ditch. A Stark County Deputy suffered an injury during the pursuit and was hospitalized but is expected to recover. The intense chase involved multiple law enforcement agencies and ended with Skog’s apprehension in a cornfield by Bradford Police. Skog faces several serious charges, including multiple counts of possessing stolen vehicles and aggravated fleeing that resulted in bodily harm. Skog also has a warrant from Henry County. Skog was medically cleared by Stark County EMS and transported to the Bureau County Jail. Skog was booked on two counts of possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated fleeing and eluding, aggravated fleeing and eluding with body injury, resisting arrest, and theft.
