The American Red Cross urges individuals, particularly those with type O blood and platelet donors, to donate blood as the holiday approaches. In response to blood shortages exacerbated by recent hurricanes, the Red Cross aims to maintain a stable blood supply. “Blood supply momentum must remain steady, as the Red Cross has worked this month to recover blood products uncollected due to recent hurricanes. Any disruption in the ability to collect blood can lead to an impact on routine and lifesaving medical care.”
Those who come to give by October 31st will receive a $10 Amazon gift card by email and be automatically entered to win one of three $5,000 gift cards. For full details, visit RedCrossBlood.org/Treat. Donors who participate by November 17th can receive a $10 e-gift card and a chance to win up to $7,000 in additional gift cards. Visit RedCrossBlood.org for more details on how to donate.
