In an emotional display at the Annawan/Wethersfield High School Titans football playoff game, 40 veterans’ flags from the “Avenue of Flags” were proudly showcased. Among those participating was SAL member Zeb Rashid, who carried the flag of his grandfather, Lee Bennett, adding a poignant personal touch to the event. The presence of these honored flags at the game served as a stirring tribute to the veterans, enhancing the community spirit and bringing an added layer of meaning to the sporting event. This gesture was warmly received by attendees and stands as a testament to the ongoing respect and commemoration of those who have served. Commander Rodney Bennett said, “This was a moving event and nice to see our flags in action.”
