Illinois Hunters See Record-Breaking Deer Harvest Season

In the recently concluded Illinois firearm deer season, hunters saw a noticeable increase in their harvest, with a total of 82,496 deer, up from last year’s count of 76,494. This season, which ended on December 8th, was split into two segments. The second segment alone brought in 27,835 deer, showing a significant rise from the previous year’s 22,883. The first segment also demonstrated strong numbers with 54,661 deer. For those looking forward to more hunting, the late-winter antlerless-only and chronic wasting disease season will open in designated counties from December 26th-29th and again from January 17th-19th.
