In a heartwarming display of community support, Black Hawk College hosted a successful food and hygiene drive last month, amassing over 1,200 essential items to replenish its on-campus food pantries. The initiative, dubbed “Feed the Hawk,” saw wide participation from students and staff, ensuring that vital resources like toilet paper, ramen noodles, soap, and more are available to students in need. These pantries, accessible 24/7 via the college police departments, provide crucial support, ensuring no student has to face hunger or go without necessities. The community can continue to support these efforts year-round by donating items or funds to help keep the shelves stocked and the spirit of giving alive at Black Hawk College. The donations at the East Campus included 59 rolls of toilet paper, 30 packages of ramen noodles, 28 boxes of tissues, 13 bars of soap, 12 jars of peanut butter, 9 bottles of shampoo, and 3 packages of feminine products.
Donations are welcome year-round.
- At the East Campus, drop off donations at the Police Department in Building 1, Room 100.
