The Bureau County Farm Bureau Foundation is now accepting applications for its Agriculture Literacy Grants, aimed at enhancing agricultural education for Pre-K through 8th grade educators. Two grant types are available: one offering up to $1,000 for lasting educational tools, and another providing up to $500 for consumable supplies. Applications for the first cycle close on August 31st, with a second chance to apply by February 28th. Further details are available on the Bureau County Farm Bureau website at www.bureaucountyfarmbureau.org.
Suggestions for these grants include, but are not limited to, classroom incubator/egg programs, agriculture-themed books, field trips, pollinator plots, gardens, guest speaker programs, butterfly labs, and/or classroom pets; provided the program helps enhance the understanding of agriculture.
Multiple grants may be awarded each cycle and are determined at the discretion of the BCFB Foundation Board of Directors. All grant recipients will be required to submit a follow-up report detailing the program(s) completed utilizing grant funds.
