A shocking and heartbreaking discovery has been made near Tiskilwa, where two dogs were found shot in the head and left in a ditch. The animals, identified as a tan younger male hound and an older white and orange male with a possible eye impairment, were taken to a veterinarian for cremation. Authorities confirmed the dogs were brought to the location alive, shot, and discarded. No microchips or collars were found. Bureau County Animal Control is urging anyone with information, especially those familiar with missing dogs in the area, to come forward. Calls will remain confidential. “If anyone knows these dogs or knows of someone that recently now is missing a couple dogs, all calls will be confidential. We believe the owners are somewhere local to the areas to know this out of the way spot. We need help locating the owners or the individual that did this.”
