Young welders from high schools and colleges will showcase their talents this Saturday, March 29th, during an exciting Welding Competition at Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC). Sponsored by IVCC and the American Welding Society, the event features separate divisions for students, offering hands-on projects and a chance to network with industry professionals. Competitors will vie for top honors, including scholarships, cash prizes, and welding gear, with all participants receiving t-shirts and swag. GMAW competitors will register at 11:30 AM, followed by the competition at 12:30 PM, and awards at 2:30 PM. Limited seats are available, and pre-registration is required by March 24th.
The competition involves a hands-on project and a written quiz (high school only), which will take place from 8 AM to 3 PM in IVCC’s East Campus, Building J.
